The ancient Romans had a sense for taste. And so this can be seen today on one of the most beautiful cycling paths in the Vinschgau with the old Via Claudia Augusta Roman road from the Reschen Pass down through the Etsch Valley towards Merano. Tailwind and a feeling of joy guaranteed. And a unique mix of landscapes, pulsating little towns, contemplative villages where you can’t avoid the numerous relics of a vibrant past.
The classic among all cycle routes in South Tyrol starts in Reschen, at the northern tip of the famous Reschen reservoir and leads cyclists along the old Roman trade route, the Via Claudia Augusta, right into the heart of the beautiful Vinschgau.
Leaving the Reschen Pass behind us, we follow the route steadily downhill along the course of the wild Adige. Passing the apple orchards that are typical for the region and the numerous historical highlights, we continue on towards Merano. This is where the tour ends. The Hotel FAYN is more or less directly on the popular cycling route. A place of regeneration. And perhaps your destination. Experience riders will then enjoy extending the cycling trip towards Bolzano and on to the Mediterranean Sea. This is limitless cycling enjoyment with a Mediterranean flair and weather conditions to match.
The area surrounding the Garden Village of Algund offers cycling fans of all disciplines the best opportunities and attractive tours for everyone. Swing into the saddle.
